"I swear, I swear," said the old man, his body shaking as he leaned on his cane.
I nodded my head.
“This was the biggest UFO incident since Roswell and you know what happened with the Roswell aliens.”
I barely listened to the old man as yapped about the silver disk that landed in the middle of the street. How it opened up and little green men with large yellow eyes walked down the ramp and asked for their leader. How the first alien said "We come in peace."
The old man's story was completely false, an implanted memory. I could have done better myself with the odds and ends of equipment I kept in my van.
When he finished his story, I checked his aura with my spectrogram. Yep, he was human with a little slash inside his head. They had fiddled with his memory. I sighed and gave him the response he wanted.
"Wow, did you see the inside of the UFO?" I tried to put some enthusiasm in my voice.
He nodded, grimaced, and then walked with a limp towards the saloon. Suddenly he turned, his eyes had gone a bright glowing red, then he said, "the aliens want to meet YOU."
Oh yea, the red eyes were a dead giveaway. It was looking like a demon infestation.
I slid my phone from my pocket and dialedI the number for the ERPT (Emergency Response Paranormal Team).
"Get here quick.” I snapped into the phone. “I can't handle this infestation alone."
I checked. my water pistol in a holster on my hip that was filled with holy water. I patted my Gideon's bible in my right pocket, and then I sauntered toward the saloon.
It was do or die time.
