Today is seven years since my late-husband died. I thought it was appropriate today to repost a poem I wrote to him in 2011.
To My Husband
As your chest rumbles near my ear, we lie entwined together; my heart is in your steady care 'twill bind this love we have forever.
We met upon a sandy beach. You rubbed my back; we talked for hours- the rotting fish, the seagulls screech- our love was soft as summer showers.
Could you have known that this one life could bring us happiness and care? That neither joyfulness nor strife could ever break apart this pair?
The love you've brought me is much more than any man could give me - rich or poor.
