Summer is my favorite time of year even if I’m living in one of the hottest cities, Las Vegas. In my journeys, most places have gentler summers even if the residents complain about the heat. Here in the middle of the heat wave, we get the temperatures that are over 110 degrees. The air is heavy, the wind blows dust into our faces, and at end of day the thunderclouds boil.
The thunderclouds never give us relief because the heat is trapped close to the earth. If it is possible it feels hotter at the end of day. I still love it. The only time I can walk is early morning and late at night.
Others are out at these times too.
As I passed my 8th month mark on my kidney ransplant, I need to talk to my doctors about using the pools at the apartment complex. I haven’t been able to use them since I moved here because I had a catheter in my abdomen for dialysis. Now I can’t while my abdomen and kidney transplant healed. I may be able to do it now. I can usually make my own decisions, but this is a coordinated effect to keep my new kidney healthy so it has to be a coordinated decision.
I still have to wear long sleeves and a hat because if I don’t I might burn. With being on Prograf, one of the side-effects is skin cancer if I get too much sun. I do sit and watch the birds in the dusk as the sun sinks in the sky. I feel calm for awhile until live gets busy again.
I’m cooking, cleaning, and playing with AI. I have a new youtube channel which hasn’t launched yet. I’ll have it up here as soon as I get the first post edited. I’ve been enjoying the AI revolution. I know that I am because when I’m in the middle of some act of creative even with AI as a tool, I will trance for three-four hours and wonder what happened to the time.
So happy early Summer Solistice— June 20, 2024. It is time to think of parks and picnics. Watching the birds and squirrels is mandatory too. I laugh when I write this.
Do as you will as long as you don’t hurt someone else.
