Recipe Love
Recently a friend of mine showed me a pan of treats that she had made for her dogs. As you know, if you have read many of my posts, I have a dog.
She's now 10.2 lbs after a few months of careful feeding my yours truly. She had an enlarged liver and with a liver support supplement, her liver proteins are now in the normal range.
She does get a treat or two, but lately I have wanted to treat her with food that had less perservatives.
So today, I am making baked treats filled with chicken and pumpkin and maybe green beans. I'm modifying the balanced kibble recipe with gluten-free rice flour.
I'm boiling the chicken right now. You can use canned chicken, but I want to make the treat with the least amount of salt and other things.
I'll let you know how it turns out.
Lately I've been surprised at how my cooking and baking has turned out. A few weeks ago I baked some Amish White bread, using honey instead of sugar. I don't eat that much bread because it makes me gain weight to easily so I freeze it for a later date. The bread turned out really tasty and definitely was better eating than the white bread you buy at the store.
Hopefully we will have electricity in the future. If we do, I will have a few skills to add to my usefulness. I'll be the baker that makes bread and dog treats.
