Otto’s Ballad
The lapping waves, the seagulls shrieked
along the rocky shore.
Hands clasped, I lean into your warmth
as misty rain hides all.
A lighthouse beam, it’s solemn gaze,
cut through the evening’s gray.
Your whispered words, a fleeting spell,
the tide stole them away.
It was so long ago
my love,
another space and time
Your whispered words, a fleeting spell,
the tide stole them away.
The salt-soaked wind, it chilled my cheeks,
yet fire burned within.
Your touch, a flame against the cold,
the world around me spins.
Now years have passed, the waves still hum,
the seagulls call their tune.
But, on that shore, I feel you still,
beneath the silver moon.
It was so long ago,
my love,
another space and time.
But, on that shore, I feel you still,
beneath the silver moon.
