I first ate corned beef hash as a kid. It was easy and from a can. You wouldn’t love that as a child cook. Then when my late-hubby was alive, I used to buy the hormel brand for him so it is not surprising that I had a real craving for it.
So I looked around for a good recipe. Most of them I had tried before and didn’t like how the potatoes were mush and tasteless. The Hormel brand of corned beef has is really high in the salt. I like to use a wide variety of herbs to get a better taste. Plus I use the himalayan pink salt, which has a better taste than the normal table salt.
There is a big maybe that corned beef hash was also a reminder of many happy hours with my late-hubby. So this is the recipe that was better than any corned beef hash I had ever eaten— even better than the German variety that I ate at one of the festivals.
