I hope your Christmas was happy. I was going to do some cooking, but I had been invited to a Christmas potluck at 3 p.m. When I got to the lobby there were people there, but the main meal was still cooking. I brought a blueberry pie and several of the people who showed up all brought “desert” dishes.
It became obvious after 30 minutes that I had made a big mistake. Two people, who showed up for the food, were sick. One had a sore throat. So I left the pie, and went back to my apartment. Instead of ham, I made a small pizza— my way. A soft taco, pepperoni, red pepper sauce (homemade), and feta cheese.
I liked it better anyway. My doctor let me eat a little cheese for Christmas and New Years. It means that if I show high phosphorus levels then I’ll have to quit eating cheese again.
I finally got a consult with a hematologist. My kidney transplant clerk wasn’t going to put my tests into the computer until I had talked about my “hinky” blood tests. Apparently my tests look good except for my homo-cycsteine levels. The body combines three of the B vitamins to get this amino acid. I was put on a B complex vitamin. It’s interesting that my levels are so low even though I’m on a high protein diet. It may mean that it is a genetic condition. The doctor wasn’t sure.
My fatigue has lessened with this new vitamin addition. My kidney doctor doesn’t want me to go for the OTC B-complex because of the kidneys. I was given a perscription.
I was sad to hear about Linda’s loss. I do know how it feels to lose a husband. I send her condolences.
As for the New Year, I will continue to dance. I’m working on Waltz and Foxtrot steps and styling. Those two dances make me feel like I am flying when I have a good lead dancer. I’m going to write more. Although I don’t have the need to create when I dance every day.
So ring out the old, and ring in the new.
May you have health and happiness this coming year.
